Falling for the lies... Nonsense economic models and junk TV.

You only have to pay attention. Turn on the television nowadays and there is a sickening slew of misinformation, lies and distractions. How is anybody expected to get their head around the details of the current economic situation here in Spain? Not only do we have to make a conscious effort to ignore football matches and discussions about football players, we now have to endure a daily soap opera about the royal family and their misdeeds, comstant bombardment from so-called superstars that jam up the tv with their "romances" and their constant drug taking, endless corruption charges against politicians of both political persuasions who then walk away scott free to write boring memoirs and rake in the dough for all eternity, failed politicians who, not content the screw money out of taxpayers, go on to have top positions in companies that originate in dodgy dealings and probably paid for by your tax money, but... And I'm getting to the point... Also the fact is that nobody... And I mean NOBODY understands the economy as it now is. When one of our beloved politicians or one of their cheering television presenters (or "fans" as I call them),When they talk about the economy, they are ALL talking about a beast that has nothing to do with any real economic model. In short... You dont understand it because it makes no sense at all. I have been tempted to say, on occasion that they are doing it on purpose. In all reality, I am after all, not THAT paranoid. They are, of course, all as corrupt as hell. This country, as is the rest of Europe, is sick with nepotism and good ol' boys clubs. The political tint is a face painted on each side just to keep us all yelling at each other. I think they even believe that they are good people and we are the ignorant ones. Such arrogance, and yet in a way we deserve such a label. Do we make an affort to see the nonsense for what it is and demand an explanation? No. The economic model that is used is a sick, nepotistic twist of the Keynesian concept. The idea is that people must have "confidence" in the currency at all cost. The idea is that people must keep spending in order to keep the economy from the brink of disaster. The idea is that public spending is capable of stimulating the economy.
Do we still believe that a bailout does any good at all for the national economy?
I would like to see the basic concepts of this economic model discussed. I would like it especially, if people were willing to hear such a debate and take it seriously.

Are we willing and able to switch off that football game, stop leering at superstar fornication and actually discuss something worthy? I really doubt it. The tv is full of gay rights, domestic violence and the latest corruption cases. Are we willing to put these things aside for a minute in order to discuss the main principles of the economic workings of our country? I kinda doubt it. The totally understandable confusion that the general public has about the economy has pushed the public away. Most people find their brain turning into sludge when listening to the economy. Why? Its impossible for a normal brain to follow crazy logic.

The logic is crazy. Its crazy as hell. Still, theres a good movie on tonight, if you dont get driven mad by the adverts that is.
